Outside General Counsel
OGC Services PLLC provides Outside General Counsel and other business/legal advice to companies of all sizes on an as needed, part time basis. It handles the day to day legal needs of startups, small and medium sized businesses on an on-demand cost effective basis – an alternative to in-house general counsel or relying exclusively on expensive law firm counsel.
OGC works closely with its clients, gaining an in-depth understanding of the company’s business activities and objectives. Because of this, OGC is able to provide focused, client-centered, advice and counsel on legal issues confronting clients on a daily basis, providing creative business solutions, valuable perspective and strategic advice to help advance business goals while mitigating risk.
In this role we:

Develop a deep understanding of the client’s business and strategic goals and objectives

Establish relationships with the management team

Identify potential legal issues and devise the best business solution – not simply the best legal solution – to help the client reach its goals

Work with the management team to develop and implement legal strategies consistent with the strategic plan

Help control outside legal costs through supervision of matters, monitoring of time and costs, and negotiation of rates

Jeff Carson is a broad based and versatile corporate and business attorney who has over 30 years of experience as General Counsel, Outside General Counsel and Corporate Counsel for small start-up, medium size, and large companies handling all aspects of the companies’ legal work.
His background and experience includes commercial contracts and transactions, business formation issues, licensing and intellectual property protection (including trademark and copyright), labor and employment, compliance, real estate, risk management and corporate governance.
Jeff enjoys assisting and otherwise helping a company get established, grow its business, comply with applicable laws and regulations, protect its assets (risk management), and keep out of financial and legal trouble.
